City Creek Center
When completed, City Creek Center will extend over nearly 20 acres on three blocks in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City and will consist of residential development, office towers and retail space, including up to three national department stores.
Demolition will begin in November 2006 starting in the northwest portion of the redevelopment area. A progressive wave of demolition will move roughly west to east, followed by excavation and site preparation that will take about a year.
During construction, parking and access will be provided for those working in office buildings and businesses that will remain open. Milestones and events will be announced as work progresses. It is anticipated that the project will be completed in 2011.
Social Hall Avenue Phase
Located on Historic Social Hall Avenue in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City, this exciting first phase of the City Creek Center development will include a mid-rise residential building co-located in a mixed use building with a grocery store which will occupy the first level with the residential area above.
Although the specific size and pricing of the residential units is still being determined, the current schedule calls for construction to commence in mid '08 with the occupancy of the building available in late '09. This is almost two full years ahead of the anticipated opening date for the redevelopment of the mall blocks to the west which will comprise the bulk of City Creek Center.
